| The hoppers look like an early PS-2 design, where the slope sheets meet the roof at an acute angle. There are some variants on this design but they were pretty common on many railroads of the era (40's - up). Nice find! The loco's a beauty, too. Hard to go wrong with Great Northern :)

* if you're not sure what that works out to pick up a ruler and look at the smaller lines at best you'll see a scale of 1/64th of an inch. This is 1/10000 (or one ten thousandths of an inch- a BIT smaller!)

Ken, that SD-7/9 looks GREAT! Glad to hear it runs well too! Open frame motor or can motor in it?
Very Nice catych with the PS-2's as well! They on my layout would be part of my Western Maryland "Gray Train" a unit train nothing but gray covered hoppers!

Toptrain:
I have two cars with the GN color scheme similar to the loco that Ken is showing: One is a Model Power:

I picked this one up at a Hobbytown franchise store in Tampa.
The other one may be an Intermountain, due to the well-detailed undercarriage and metal wheels, but I am not sure:
