finally, after some helpful advice, I am able to put some pictures of my layout up.

Here is the trailer depot and lumberyard, part of my new trailer fleet, the rest is loaded onto flatcars.

Closeup of the Bekins.

The mountain with the rest of my trailers on flatcars and my 2 Chessie engines.

The gas station.

The construction site and neighborhood, my personal favorite area.

And finally, my HO scale car bin. There are some tyco, life like, cars and then tons by all sorts of other manufacturers.

That's just about everything on my layout. I will continue to post here when I add something new, or take better pictures.

Thanks everyone!

I have 2 chessie engines and they are both in the picture of the mountain, an Athearn GP-35 and a Bachmann F9.

Thanks! The house came out very well I think, it's a kit by rix products.

/tyco/forum/uploaded/chessierr/20120611105200_screenshot_01.jpg

Here's another view. The driveway is made out of light cardboard.

/tyco/forum/uploaded/chessierr/20120611105336_screenshot_02.jpg

Hobo camp, an old Bachmann Chessie caboose. Used to be the railroad's yard office, but they moved to an atlas shed in the middle of the yard.

/tyco/forum/uploaded/chessierr/20120611105710_screenshot_03.jpg

The town's bank, a junk box project. I am not sure what kit this is, looks like the life like plumbers but no loading doors.

/tyco/forum/uploaded/chessierr/20120611105857_screenshot_04.jpg

The construction site, made from a life-like kit which is not being made anymore, but strangely enough the same girder and I-beam pieces are being made by a company called bridge street toys, under the name tekton. Here is the link:

http://www.bridgestreettoys.com/index.html

Some of these spray painted dark red could make a good addition or substitute for the life like kit.

/tyco/forum/uploaded/chessierr/20120611110226_screenshot_05.jpg

The whole layout. It is a standard 4x8 size board.

/tyco/forum/uploaded/chessierr/20120611110405_screenshot_08.jpg

Finally below my layout, lots of boxes down here, I really need to clean it out someday. You can see over to the left the boxes the trailers came in, most are original. The rest are boxes for all of my Athearn blue box kits and locos, and my personal favorite engine, Athearn SD40 MRL #250, an engine I have seen running.

Thanks! I got mine in the box at a train show, minus a few parts. You can see the crane in the photo of the whole layout. It seems to have fallen over though. In another picture you can see the AHM bright orange crate loader thingy by the trailers. That is a kind of fun accessory, it seems like it would go well with the tyco trailer loader.

God you guys......I only wish to have the small enough space to have a single 4x8.......(PLEASE I'm not bragging!) I wish it were that simple for me.....I have a HUGE Articulatged steam collection which is how I based my B&O and Western Maryland layout......mid to late 1950's......With the size of those locomotives, well you see were this is going...... my mainline run has to be some enormous length to make up for the trains length......to look somewhat prototypical......SO, what I have is a 4x8, with another 5x7, the 4x8 makes up most of my mainline (even tho just under half of it will be under a mountain!) and then the outside mainline will extend all the way around the outside edge of the 5x7, which will have an engine facility in the middle, and hopefully have a "lower deck" under the 5x7 thats not seen, unless under the layout for a staging type yard as the opposite end of the 5x7 will have a the entrace or yard lead that will go sub-level, as the 4x8 and 5x7 are separtated by a deep river, which will have some N scale down below as the mountain will have some N scale as well, above the main level of HO scale.....

Thats if I ever get to making the 5x7 frame work! (I have the 4x8 up and almost running), as all I need to do now is finish the wiring up of the control panel.....(I'm not running DCC)

Thanks! The sidewalks are made from thick (not corrugated) cardboard painted light grey. It looks pretty good, I think.

Nice work Chessie! Wow, but that reminds me a ton of my first serious attempt at a model RR some 20 years (ugh) ago. There's pics of it somewhere. Your truck terminal is pretty similar to the one on my current layout too.

You're off to a great start there... just keep experimenting and enjoying and see where it all takes you...

Thanks! As you can see my favorite engines to run are the chessies and of course my walthers alco FA which you can see in the 3rd photo next to the mountain. I almost always run it with my quartet of streamline athearn coaches.
