I am not sure if I shared this one before, so I am now. It is a steam shovel. I suppose it could be under the COTW category, but since I already filled that slot, I'll post it here:
It was a $37 BIN inc s/h purchase on eBay!

My AOTW is a tender with sound inside. Runs off 9-volt battery, and the movement makes the sound. Has a metal bottom, reminds me of Mantua, but not sure, not marked so.

If anyone knows who made this, please let me know.

Jerry, it definitely Tyco/Mantua. I've seen it somewhere before, either in an auction or drawings for it. No doubt brown box era. They also had a smoke in tender accessory kit like early AF locos.

| The rear truck with the gear on the axle looks just like the way Tyco made the B&O sound boxcar. Does the sound work? Pretty cool looking.

I have a Mikado with that retro-fit Jerry. Not very loud.

Yup, looks just like that. I'm gonna take it with me to a Hot Air Balloonfest this weekend, along with some other trains, and run them around on some cardboard on the ground while the wife is working Thanks for posting that link, Cat.
