Went cruising in my 79 F250 on Memorial Day. While out - stopped by where they park the locomotives and took this picture. I then took my truck back and parked it. I went to the pool where we live and was chatting with 2 new guys that just moved in - Turns out they are the Conductor and Engineer for the locomotive above - A cab ride is in my future on the locomotive above and it will be video'd and psoted. They are going to let me know a day when they are running and i will meet them along the line to ride -I can't wait. The railroad manager is very nice and is aware and has given the ok

How cool. Love that '79 of yours! One day, I'll have a '79.

Awesome Truck Brian. I have always been a Ford guy and have been wanting an F Series truck for quite sometime. The only problem being that I live on a hill in a very old part of Los Angeles with many narrow roads. A truck like yours is exactly what I had in mind.
If you are not having fun, you are not doing it right.

raysouthernpac - Thank You - It didn't look like this when i bought it -was a diamond in the ruff - It is stout and plenty of power and will pull - I use in winter here to pull people up hills and out of ditches from snow and ice -although this past winter -we didn't get any snow or ice -unusual
catfordken - LOL - I hear you - I guess in the UK - there arent' many or any of these trucks on the road there?
Alco Fan -
Redneck Justin - Better start looking to get one now - I watch on ebay and these trucks -"junkers" have been selling high lately and the F250's aren't as common as these were special ordered back in the day and not on every lot as today's F250. You can get everything made on these trucks new still. All the Chrome on mine was or has been replaced over the years -

That a nice coincidence. About 15 years ago I used to ride with a local freight that ran near my place in the evening, sometimes twice a week in the cab of a Conrail GP38-2.
That Ford looks great. The only thing it needs now is a set of hi-rail wheels.
