As a Vietnam era vet (no, I was fortunate enough to stay in CA during my service time), remember those who gave the most for the rest of us, as well as those of our parents' generation who fought in wars past. FoxNews online had a particularly poignant image of a landing craft and a dead soldier on a beach in WW2- a far cry from the beach I took my daughter to this weekend.

Thanks Nelson - There was a light wind blowing when i took picture which was perfect.
MB - No -i don't live beside tracks - took picture at local train watching spot - NS mainline in LOWELL NC - main st. Yes -the front tag is Original NC tag issued for trucks back in 1979. NC does not require plates on front of vehicle as other states do. I can have this tag re-activated by signing a form at DMV - haven't had time to do it yet.

That 79 is some fine shape Brian! What for power plant is under the hood?
My first truck was a 78 Dodge Power Wagon that pass and pull EVERYTHING but a gas station! Had a 440 Police Interceptor in it! And was an ex military pick up!

| EM - 1 - Lincoln 460 - was rebuilt in 2000 - only has around 7,000 miles on motor since rebuild - Loves GAS - don't drive it much especially in summer as it does not have A/C and that 460 pumps out some major heat. When i get some money - going to add A/C. I hear you on the 440 - The Dodge police cars - Monaco and Plymouth Fury's had those motors too - Love hearing a 4bbl carb open up - That sound is awesome

Brian, The ole Dodge I had was an ex-Military pick up that had a original 360 in that I wound up snmapping a wrist pin and blowing the motor and a friend of mine had a 71 Monoco with the 440 in it that I bought specifically to put into the truck!
But your right when the ole 4 bbl openes the sound is AMAZING! Needless to say, theres no replacement for displacement!
That 460 sounds like my ole 440 did, it was low miles on it when I got it as the friend had rebuilt it as well! So.....
A/C.....mine didn't have it either....add it and there goes another 10 miles to the gallon!
