My parts supplier shifter came 3 days early!! I got to work the second I opened it! It took me 2 hours to get te running gear aligned and the motor lubed For running. Plus I worked on the spare parts anyways now she is 90% complete!! Her running gear is clean, oiled, and shiny after some work. I ended up using the motor in the parts supplier engine cause it ran but needed a lube. So after that my 0-4-0 #5 woke up for the first time since the 70s!! After 5 long years or setbacks and restoration she now runs and is days away from running her first train! The only thing I have to do is put on the smokebox door and adjust the weight of the tender because the loco runs rough. It runs amazing when I hold down the tender but some weight in the tender and some wheel adjustments and she'll be good to go! She now sits in my main shop awaiting the last bit of work. I've done plenty today and will have her finished by saturday. I will upload photos of my priceless beauty tommorow! If you want to read more about it visit my Facebook page called "I <3 model trains" I accept all requests. If you know me on tyco forums you'd know thT finishing this engine was a huge deal for me and very important. I'll be rebuilding and repainting all the spare parts left from the parts supplier.

Good job. I told you you'd get it.
The contact between the tender floor and the trucks is a common problem with Mantua steamers. Polishing the the contact areas helps, but hardwiring them is even better. I hardwired a Pacific tender once, but never bothered with my shifter tender.

ThNks! I totally agree! Everything on the engine has been rebuilt or acquired off other engines. Right now only the boiler, frame, and cylinders are original. Everything else had to be replaced
