Refreshed 1-12-08

Here is what a golden eagle looks like on a stewart chassis. The unit is a real smooth runner and while not cheap-the tyco shell fits snug and has constant lighting. DCC and sound ready-currently using DC I just recieved the chassis today jan 19th 2007.

Oh My...a TYCO Golden Eagle Super630 sitting on a Stewart chassis...that unmarked panel van sitting across the street from your house with the antenna dish and guys with binoculars is no doubt the local NMRA building their case against you.

Seriously, it looks excellent. Very Very Cool!

Have been debating doing such a project with a Spirit of '76 Super630.

Those Stewart trucks and tank look at home on your 630. Did you need to do any clearencing to get it to fit?

I definately need to pay more attention to Stewart at the swap meets.
That is going to look great pulling freight, coal or passenger trains.

Imagine that with sound! This may have been what tyco would do if still in business, to go to another manufacturer to get the power unit and then market it together. Sweet! [}:)]

Impressive! That'd be just the thing to shock your friends at the club with. Kids would love it too... a golden engine pulling 60 cars around a layout. Awesome.

Actually it looks like factory, especially with that shiny gold shell. I only have one 630 in SF. I could develop a thing for them. Thanks to you and GiC. [;)]

You could actually run it with the Athearn chassis. It looks right at home but the Stewart is your best choice. What came off the Athearn chassis and the Stewart?

The athearn was an undecorated model and stewart was a chassis only -no shell. Has detail parts for trucks i have not installed and yes those are protoypically correct alco trucks on the stewart.

It's been a few days. Anything new with the Golden Eagle and the new chassis?
