Ken, Thats a nice one..... a semi-brass 4-6-2......At first glance, I thought it was a 4-4-2, till I actually stoped and had a closer look!
VERY NICE! If I'm not mistaken, thats a Reading Railroad prototype!

It's just the age thing Ken!
We go on when we're little and later on as we head back to the beginning as it were we start again!
They were on my radar too at one time, but gone now. Not even sure I'll keep my Varney Super Consolie and Super Mike.... we'll see.

Ken, Well I understand the "repeat" on the topic, my friend, I was looking for a BRASS B&O EM-1, some years ago, and I have since found one and have redone it (I have a topic under the topic for "all others not mentioned" sectoion....) Amd then I picked up a new Spectrum B&O EM-1 which I'm sure you've seen my video's in different places of the forums!

Ken,
Great find Ken! Can I ask what you paid? The going rate here in the US is about $150 for one in that state. I have about 7 of those gems ranging from complete to parts value / restorable. The date from ~1948 through 1952 as regular production pieces and then from 1952 onward to ? as special order only.
Here is my parts stash of them:

Here one of about 4 that I have on display at work:

Nice work Ken!
I must ask, you planning to keep it original with the missing parts and such? I ask as alot of that, for me would have to be replaced with better castings as I'm hot on good details, like a 1960's Akane B&O EM-1 as I know you've seen my posting onit so.... (YEAH, I'm a rivet counter, to an extent!)

Let mek now as I might have something ot fit the boiler.
amnyone know what the size of the boiler is? That way I can see what I might have in my detail parts bins!

Ken!
I scored another one the other day. It must have been my lucky day as it was listed in this lot here as a BIN for $100.

I could potentially make most of that $ back on parting out the first generation Mikado behind it!

Ken,
For the most part, the valve gear and rods are the same as that which were used on the die cast Mantua Pacific locos. If you find an early version with the enclosed drive gear, I believe they are exact matches. The only parts that do not match up are the brass crossheads that fit inside the inverted channel on the steam chests.

Ken, VERY nice! I can almost hear the boiler thump of 2 Reading G-1's as they pass double headed!
Now, for me to pull that off with 2 B&O EM -1's! The guys think the "Pulling Record" at my local club is impossible to beat, well, wait till I have 2 of 'em thumpin at once! on one L-O-N-G train!
