I really want to see your guys' layouts and collections, it can be all of it or some of it i just want to see what treasures we all share out here. I would post photos myself of my 4x8 and my 100+ locomotive collection, but our home computers harddrive died causing us to lose 5 years worth of photos and ALL my layout progress from when i had a much smaller layout. I kept months worth of pohotos of my engines and layout and now its all gone We just bought a new labtop and home computer, but i'm not going ti import photos on either one till we figgure out what went wrong on our old computer. Anyways enough about me lets seem some collections and layouts!

Well guys, All I have pictures of is my collection, HOWEVER the layout needs some shots, when I get to a point of not being ashamed of it LOL Its a REAL mess! Reason is, I plan to integrate all my power packs into the sub framing underneth it, (YES, I run DC cab control) and do not want all those power packs floating around the edge of it and all the power packs are being disassembled to be built into the benchwork because of it with a old fasioned control panel made for such with the use of my own Rheostats used for speed control....

So heres some of whats on display of my colletion....

Good looking collection John!

Sorry for the computer troubles SCVR66. I have found I post my pictures to flickr and photobucket. These are free sites for the basic memberships. I think I pay $30 a year to flickr for theit hosting since i have thousands posted there.

As for my collection.. We started a home remodel last year, so my layout was scrapped & burned:

Here is most of my collection:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/9977705@N05/6185189391/in/set-72157626959024321

It is in storage.

This is what I have on display currently at work:

Sean,

NICE collection as well!

Question, why tourch the old layout? was in the way of the remodel or wanted something new and updated?

We had to make room for this:

https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.2383577038399.2137403.1519935282&type=3&l=f0e57e7ad1

It was in the attic and it had to go. Grandma moved in with us last year and she is living in the basement right now. It could not stay there.

I have to add some updated pictures. I have been working on the plumbing in the master bath lately. Production is slow now since I am doing all the interior and am working full time as well as Hockey & Soccer coach to my two daughters. Hockey just ended, but Soccer is just starting as our second game is this Saturday.

I only wish I had the space to display most of my better pieces, let alone my entire collection.

Yes. Thanks. It is, but I would not know how else to be. I do not sit and watch TV. If i am not doing something, I feel lazy.

The wife is letting me have one of the 4 rooms as my space for my trains, so I have to get the rest done first before i can start on it. I WILL decorate that room with all the trains I want to show off!

Yes all are Athearns, thinking about getting a MTH with sound when I can convince myself $250 for an engine is a good deal.

Jeremy,
I thought so from the pictures was alittle difficult to tell, (And I didn't even think of looking closely enough to see the cab numbers!)

As for the MTH, I JUST got one, in a trade! I must say, WHAT an SD70ACe! IF you look under LOTW, you'll see my posting there.....with a short "trial" run on my test track!

I CONFESS!! My layout changes on month-to-month basis! In fact, I just relaid the HO loop with EZ track, since past mess-ups and lessons learned made the track to rough to run on without frequently derailing. So far, the EZ track works great!

I also confess that I am a multi-scaler/multi-gauger. Only my "sceniced staging" (which isn't even currently connected to the mainline) is HO-only, and even then there's currently some Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars on it.

Currently, I run HO, O gauge, and G gauge trains (The G gauge loop is on the floor). Yes, there's an S gauge loop on the layout, but I don't have any operable S gauge engines (and every engine I buy ends up having problems with it). I am currently converting an Athearn BB chassis to S gauge so I have SOMETHING to run on that loop.

I also currently have a Life-Like slotcar loop on the layout (with a little bit of Tyco track on the loop as well, since I ran out of Life-Like straight track).

My layout is a mess, and these pictures were taken after I cleaned it up a bit. Usually it's a disaster, though I'm trying to get away from that bad habit. Here's the link to the photos: https://skydrive.live.com/#cid=435D8EBE69DC9A06&id=435D8EBE69DC9A06%214143

Enjoy!

I'd LOVE to have a "slot car" set up for my roads, and have the crossings for the autos to cross the rr tracks! Always been a dream of mine if I'd ever sit down and look for the slot car stuff to make it all happen!

My collection at present is spread out across 4 rooms in two different buildings Here's a decent chunk of my engines though. A lot of them have unpictured doubles, dummies, B-units, etc...,

Misc engines:

There are a few Tyco's mixed in here...the CP Rail steamer and F-7, as well as the two switchers on the right.

A few of my Tyco engines:

My layout:

Once I get some streamliners and F-units out of the shop I'll post pics of my passenger fleet. That's probably an additional hundred pieces...keep your eyes open!

My collection? Most of it is here at the new house, some of it is still back at my parents' house. It's obviously grown quite a bit since those pictures were taken.

Here's a shot of some of my Tyco streamliners. Even this picture is about six years out of date...

There's three large containers and several shoe racks loaded with Tyco passenger cars in the basement. In my defense, this is one of the few things I've ever put a solid effort in to collecting one of everything. There used to be a member here (and I'm sure pictures can be found) that had an entire wall of Tyco streamliners.

That is the good thing about bringing back these threads.
Reintroduce the photos to the new and long time members.

Some new members may have a collection to show.
Some long time members as well. Get the hint Ben?

Uhhhh, I think I bought the first one in 2006. That picture is probably from 2014. I've bought more since then. Ebay certainly helped.

All boxes are in my garage & am moving this month

so I gotta get a wire brush attachment & possibly paint remover for the metal saw horses my grandpa used for his sign business(hate that word)
So I can use them for my layout

Revising Armodilloville this weekend. It has become a real pain to
constantly have to stop, fix, stop, fix, so to free up a little space
for other projects and hopefully get Armodilloville to be a little
more reliable, I decided to remove the L.

Initially, I hoped to shrink it all the way down to 3.5 x 5, as it
had once been, but that would mean having to sacrifice the bus
route, at minimum, and once I get that going right it will be worth
it. So, chopping it back to 4 x 8 is the best I could do.

The Twice Around track plan was something that worked out very
well, but I wanted to run two trains at once, and keep them
from bumping into each other. Definitely not worth the expense
and effort to install DCC in everything- that would become a full
time job, so I am breaking up the two circuits into two electrically
separate overlapping loops, as in Henley.

For all its complexity, and size, this is NOT something that could be
done on the El Paso Model Train Club 10 foot by 36 foot layout and
its half dozen interchanges. At the Club, one was pretty much
restricted to goingincirclez, just on a longer template. If I get it
right, this will be simple and fun, and most of all reliable, in keeping
with my Less is More theory of model railroading (in other words,
it is what me, myself, and I can reasonably manage).

The L. It worked, but it became a challenge to work around, and
to maintain. I pulled up the track, set aside the structures, and will try to
blend them in to the 4x8.

A crossing is being installed here, to make the inner lap a separate electrical loop,
crossing over the outer lap at two points. It used to be a twice around. This little
hack will keep the operator thinking about maintaining train speed and separation.

The "old" return crossing for the previous twice around plan. It formed an exit to the
L to give a longer run and to add on the steady accumulation of structures.
The diamond sat right on the seam between the two baseboards, and I thought for
sure this would be a source of unending derailments, but in fact it provided hours
of trouble free operation.

As long as you don't help me look for it!

Finished up extricating the L. Phew.
Amazing what another four feet of space can do.
Worked in the loops with some old Flex track,
and some fiber tie. Everything seems to roll
smooth over it, but the proof will be when I
light it up the first time.

I had thought about using a stash of Atlas
True Track over the entire distance, and I would've
too, except that there is not one millimeter of
wiggle room with that stuff. So all morning long,
tweaking and tweaking.

Going to put up some crash boards along some edges
where the track comes right up on the edge. Will
cut in some peep holes that I can film through.

I am realizing I got more territory than I had originally
thought. I won't be able to salvage everything, but
with a little shoe horning I can get a lot of it in. I found
the airport make it, even if it does look a teensy bit
contrived.

This weekend's renovations: the L is gone. The twice around is now two
overlapping ovals, completely independent electrically. Two trains can run,
but the operator has to be be paying attention or a diamond crossing wreck
will happen.

The stub on the right is going to veer off to the right, and this will open up the
frontage down an entire side of Armadilloville along the street car track. Should
have thought of this before. Most of the important structures will have room, now.
Even the airport fits.

If it works, going to finish it up and fire some video today. Monday is my Sunday.

Woke up at 3 am, a side effect of working graves. Used the time wisely to
put in some crash boards, reinforce the dust cover, and plant everything
that came off the L. To my amazement, it all fit. Much inspiration from
studying RP's remarkable micro layout, Ephrates Valley Railroad.
