Guys, I just got this beast, it looks REALLY old, no maker on it, and I'm not sure, (I think it might be a A.C. Gilbert, but I'm not sure!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thats an AC Gilbert. I have that one in my collection. They had no smoke and most were packaged with train sets. Parts kinda tough to find for these!

Hi there 310031 is a B&O version of the PRR B6 steam engine. It should have a smoke unit and puffing unit.

Thanks guys! I'm glad to know I was right with a guess of who made it.....

I DIDN'T know it is a B&O! Hmmm.......

I'll have to look and see if I have that slope back tender to see if its mostly together (I removed the open frame DC-90 motor for cleaning purposes awhile ago!)

Ken, that other shell may be worth something because of the misprinted number.

Exactly. The missing part of the three is a perfect straight line, like it was masked wrong. Collectors of anything seem to go nuts over errors, so I'd leave it on its original frame. You should put it on the errors & misprints thread, too.
