I found a nice 0050 Lionel Gang Car forsale at a disclosed location/store for a nice price of $50. Anyways, the wheels have slight pitting and no drive bands. Would Athearn Hi-F bands work on it? Also, any maintance tips so I can have it go reverse and foward? I've been told it works best when running in reverse. " Heck with counting 'em rivets, TRAINS ARE FOR FUN! Not called the Mad Scientist for nothing either!"

I am for sure. The lettering is mint and not faded and complete minus those drive bands! " Heck with counting 'em rivets, TRAINS ARE FOR FUN! Not called the Mad Scientist for nothing either!"

Did you find any answers Justin? I just bought two of them. One orange, and one gray. Mine are missing one wheel set each, and those bands. I've got some Athearn bands, but not an extra set of wheels. Do the bands go around both wheel set axles, or just one? It does seem like a cool little thing if it runs even slightly well.

The Athearn belts are too big. I have found very small rubber bands in the past that have worked. Also, Harbor Freight sells a box assorted sized O-Rings that might work.Edited by - waw47 on August 26 2013 11:49:41 PM
