On the 1960s era Aristo Craft imports (New One Model on the bottom), among the engines they did were a Mountain 4-8-2 and a Mikado 2-8-2.
I grabbed one of the Mountains a few weeks ago pretty cheap in nice shape, but it has the wrong tender - it has a Varney tender with it. Anyone have a shot of one handy or could point me what back issue to check out to see what the correct one is supposed to look like?
Their 2-8-2 Mikado may work also, it had the same boiler casting and likely used the same tender. The guy who had this had a Mike also - but that had a Tyco tender with it. Makes me wonder if there was some kind of flaw to the originals.
The tender is actually worth about what I paid for the whole thing, so I did okay there.

The mountain came first with a tender that looked like a mantua pacific tender. It was larger in all deminsions. Later ones used a , I think, Aristo mikado tender. A bad photo but all I have to show now. frank /tyco/forum/uploaded/toptrain/20120403095024_Aristo Mountain - Copy.jpg
