Having a partial night off, as the wife was out getting a massage, I brought out a Playmobil G scale engine that someone here on TF traded me for something, I've forgotten what and when Anyway, got the engine apart, and discovered a broken wire to the motor. Easy fix. Yay! I bought 12 pieces of 8' diameter curved track, to finally get my outdoor railway going after 12 years thanks ( or, no thanks ) to English and Poison Ivy infestation. Been driving it back, cutting it down, and hope to have it tamed this year finally, or under some kind of control, anyway. Back to the engine. I may convert it to a small diesel goat, MOW vehicle, etc. as the cheap-looking toy steam engine is ok, but not great. The actual motor and chassis, though, are pretty decent, and ran exceptionally quiet and steady. I will probably run it as is, with the passenger cars, and change them as I want to. Here's a few pictures of tonight's fun, the cats joined in, too.

My black cat Roameo had a great time playing with the chassis, he would charge it and bat at it. Juliette, however, wasn't getting near it ( when running ). Anyway, great evening experience, I'll have to pull my G scale Amtrak engine out, I saved that from a trash can years ago when working a second job cleaning at a small school. The wiring had melted to the truck contacts,I'd rewired it, but got it backwards on one truck. Need to fix that. Anyway, my only other powered G unit. So maybe I'll get my Garden Railway going this year finally, after waiting12 years to make progress on ivy removal it's finally disappearing. Here's a few photos of my side area I'm putting the G into.

This is the main area by my deck I'm going to start the outdoor railroad at.

This whole area is where I want to eventually run track through. The ivy has been cut to the ground with a hedge trimmer, and lawn-mowered. Hope to start digging it out root by root soon.
My summer clean-out plan is set, and maybe I will also get the HO deck railing railroad going as well. Big plans, we'll see what I can accomplish this year.

I THOUGHT it was you, but going thru my messages, I couldn't find the one where we talked bout it. Oh well. Anyway, the engine is running again, nice LGB made unit, btw, and now I need to pull out the passenger cars and clean them up, my they're dirty! Then if I can secure the ground from ivy vines, I'll put out the track near "swan lake", and finally run it "in the wild". Maybe I'll fill up one car with seeds , and try to give a squirrel a ride sometime.
