After work - went to meet some friends for a few minutes of train watching - I had my new camera with me. My friends scanner cracked that a northbound was approaching. I grabbed my camera - turned it on and zoomed down the track as far as it would zoom - When i did - couldn't believe what i seen - These 2 boys running right toward the train. These were middle school boys as the school is very close to this crossing. The first boy darted and as he did i snapped the picture which caught the second boy running on front of train. If he would have fell - there would have been nothing left of him. I posted this picture on my facebook page. Several are now trying to get this published in the paper. A few of my friends were outraged in the fact that these 2 boys even tried this. The train was traveling over 50 mph. I was about a 1/2 mile or better down track

A day or two ago, the FEC Railroad, in Florida, had a train hit and kill someone crossing their tracks...
As per regulation, the crew was relieved and a new crew boarded...
Near the end of the new crew's run, another person was hit and killed by the same train.
Taking photo's like this one, rail enthusiasts/photographers should be credited and cited as an authority figure to catch these dangerous acts/stunts on film.
Some time back, two young girls stepped in front of an Amtrak train just 50 feet ahead... it went into emergency, another railfan videoed it, posted it on YouTube, the local television station got hold of it, broadcasted it... at the end of the video, the two girls also went up to the person recording the video just as the train came to a stop... "Look what we did..." and laughed.
I believe the parents were notified, the girls were charged for delinquent recklessness and endangerment...
The photo is good, the act of the two boys a disgrace... the photographer to be recognized!

I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out. "I love your catenary!" Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?

Stunning shot on the guys crossing in front of the train.
There is a film, maybe a rail safety documentary, where a woman, at a train station, has to cross a walkway in font of oncoming trains in a suburban area, others have already crossed successfully. The woman ,lagging behind as an other train is blowing through there and though not shown she is obviously struck, really makes an impact on the viewer.
Again Great shot. My choice for "photo of the year"!

Nice job on the photo.
Obviously, the youth of today have their priorities wrong. At that age, I would have stopped to watch the train and wave to the crew. But, seriously, this shows they have no respect or concern for others. The engineer probably had a mild heart attack watching them cross. Kids think they own this world.
