I have a ATSF 4-6-0 that has the burnt motor sendrom beginning (IE, awful smell and motor hot). I have had luck with a new Mantua 0-6-0T motor fitting in my 0-4-0T. Will it clear the fire box and the wieght? I'm not to sure honestly.

i'd like to know if a 4-6-0 motor will function correctly inside my mantua 0-4-0 shifter. the original motor seemed to have a bigger worm gear will it make a difference?

I think all the worm gears are the same. Its the axle gear that always different.

So running a 4-6-0 motor will run good in my shifter? I'm nearly done rebuilding mine but it needs wheels and rods, but that's it so I'm hoping the motor will work good in an 0-4-0 I lubricated it and used my fingers to turn over the gear and armature shaft but it hasn't had run time since being in my old 4-6-0 back in January 2011. I kept having problems with the custom wiring that the originL owner put so I dismantled it and used a few parts for my shifter.

As long as they both had PM-1 motors, it will be a drop-in fit.
