Hi.Just purchased a Mantua #227-29 Vista Dome car in box.Have not been able to find out the date of manufacture.Does any one have any info on this? Thanks

I know this is really old, but I believe it was only produced for 1 year - 1956. Sorry my mistake, I was talking about the Tyco version.

I have several. Mine are New York Central and Northern Pacific. Like the previous poster said, they were made in the 80s. Blue striped boxes and maybe also the maroon boxes and Mantua Classics boxes with lids. My NYC set even has a vista dome observation car. I don't think the vista domes were ever made in the 50s.
