when my dad gave me his collection of tyco/mantua trains this santa fe sharknose engine was one of them. For a while i've had the drive shafts out and i must've misplaced them, i havent been able to find them for a long time, i'd like to know if anyone has any spares to it. all i need is the drive shafts, i cleaned her wheels and lubricated her motor so she runs great but she doesnt move. Anybody got parts? i have the shell it's just off
here she is, you can tell the part i need

SCVR66,
That is one of Athearns very first gear drives "Dual Gear" is what they called them. As for parts spares are going to be hard to come by I have made shafts for them from some Hobbytown parts. I will post pictures as soon as I dig them out gotta find them first.

this is a tyco, easily seen by the design of the shell and motor

No, Pierce is correct - the picture you have shows a very early Athearn Gear-Drive GP9 power chassis. Hobbytown made and may still make a universal drive shaft kit that could be what you need.

The Sharknose shell must have been adapted to the Athearn Geep drive. I have the same version of the F-unit chassis with the Globe shell.
And not to pile on, but a Sharknose and a C-Liner are completely different locomotives. The Shark was a Baldwin product, and the C-Liner was made by Fairbanks Morse. I've seen eBay sellers making the same mistake.

Sorry for doubting you guys. I still believe it has a relation to a tyco Fairbanks morse or else it wouldn't fit. My dad had these as a kid, I dont know the last time he used them but for over 30 years they've sat in a box. I picked this engine exactly the way it was, I didn't remove the shell it was on so it's been that engines frame. I don't think it was swapped. It probably was I just can't see that.

The driveshafts are plastic? There is a slim possibility that I have some. How about posting a picture of the shell? Just for grins.
