An ordinary Tyco GP20 shell on a '90s GP20 Mantua chassis. It took a bit of grinding on the pads under the shell and stantion pockets to get it to fit. I want to reverse it so I didn't remove the couplers and I only sliced the front pilot to get the frame in and out for test fittings.

Hi All,
Here is my loco. this week. A Tyco Santa Fe GP20. I really like the paint scheme on these. Does anyone know of a set of metal or plastic wheels that will fit the rear unpowered truck of these GP20s?
Thanks
Mytyco

DANGIT!!!!....LOL I don't have any GP-20's that havent been already listed. I guess I'll pull an odd ball out. I traded this with someone for an NIB Chessie System saftety scheme caboose since I did'nt have this loco in my collection. I came out pretty good for this trade.
$26, Hard to belive these cost that much back in the day.

Eventhough Chessie System rostered only 100 GE's, but no BQ's it still could have been cool to see one in this paint.

Nice post alco Fan. I bet it runs better too with the mods you've done.

My LOTW is this Mantua #99 I've had stored in the deep dark corner of a closet, totally forgot I had this, was in a handgun case with some other HO equipment. Anyway, dug it out and propped it up for a photo. Doesn't run, think this was an auction buy. Clean and unbroken, I will have to work on it and find out why it's not getting power.

Staying with the GP-20 theme, I present the best condition MU-2 motored engine in my collection. The thing is practically brand new and runs great.

GP20s, eh? Here's a Mantua from 1981:

Previous owner drilled out the class lights, which I filled with Athearn EMD headlight lenses. Not too bad looking. Never was too much a fan of this stylized "SOO" logo, and never did see too many IRL compared to the standard Arial font scheme. Oddly enough tho, it's the same scheme Lionel used on the scarce U18-B.
Switching drivers for a moment, here's a steam loco rarely seen, courtesy of Eaglerock: Thanks man!

Fanciful for sure, but she's certainly a beaut.

my newest buy, a southern Pacific mantua 0-4-0 booster. Bought it at The roundhouse in north hollywood california, the owners (who've known me since i was little) saved the engine for me for 2 years cause they knew i'd buy it just never did till now $30 an im happy. Cleaned her wheels, lubricated her completly, and gave her a knuckle coupler. She runs silent and perfect so it was a lot of fun to work on and run a close view
stopped at a station

hey AMC_Gremlin_GT, if you dont figure out the problem on your mantua 0-4-0 ever consider selling or trading I need a parts supplier for my project i dont need the motor but it'd be good to have a backup but let me know if you'd ever sell or trade.

yes they are, they knew my mom before i was born since my mom would buy trains for my brother who is 4 years older than me. They soon met me and i've always enjoyed them and their selection. Our family is easily their most frquent customer, we go there once or twice a month and buy numerous things on average we spend $300 a year there. Saturday was the first time in over 5 years that i've ever seen all the owners and workers there. Both Allen and Mike and gabby and dave were all there. Allen remembers me somewhat mostly my mom. But dave remembered me. Everytime i go there i usualy only see gabby who's always friendly. I havent seen mike in over 4 years he couldnt walk very well but it was nice to see him around the shop, he and allen are in their 80s so i'm suprised there still going there. Mike handled the purchase of this 0-4-0 i bought, it might be the last time i see him but they were all friendly and they had snacks and drinks for all the guests. Even though i live 35 miles away they are my #1 choice to buy because we've known them so long. out of the over 100 engines i have i'd say at least 70 were from them. I could go on and on about them

I could split this between COTW, but they are just a little to pretty to break up.

My good train friend bought a box of HO stuff off one of his sales reps. Vast majority was AHM rolling stock. A gaggle of AHM GP18's and this unit tucked away. Pretty much everything in the box has never graced the rails. Sadly when a Tyco PT motor sits that long it doesn't want to move again. Such was the case with this unit. Definitely thinking about remotoring it down the road.

Must have been one of heir raffle days. I haven't been to one in a while but they have then once a month I believe. I am probably about 18 miles or so away and Whistle Stop is walking distance from my office. Still I prefer going to roundhouse where they always have a pot of coffee waiting for you as soon as you walk in the door. They still have Athearn blue box which I really appreciate.

Fellas thanks for the reponse with GP 20s Shaygetz: Are you going to leave the Chatt paint scheme? I like it. Alex: the BQ23-7 in Chessie is great. You traded it? I just posted a Seaboard BQ recently. Go ahead and repost locos. raysopac: That PC 20 is a beaut. Everbody else: Great stuff!
