Is this guy totally numb, or what? I can see maybe using it on an unpowered car or dummy engine, but not on a powered diesel or steam loco. And what was so daunting about simply removing the shell, cleaning it with his "magic wand" and then hand cleaning the interior power train? Alcohol with a makeup sponge I can understand, but not what this video showed!
Water+electrical systems generally are not too compatible!

Good reply Shaygetz! Why would ya do that? Not hard to remove a engine's shell! Oh well, he'll learn his lesson!

isn't soot something you would want on locomotives?
It's natural weathering... could have shown the locomotive has a coal-hauling job.
I agree on the "water+electric" hazards.
When dust gathers on rolling stock, that's natural weathering... there's another link that shows a guy using mineral spirits for cleaning track... another with sandpaper YIKES!!!
John
I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out. "I love your catenary!" Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?

We see this kind of treatment given to model trains now because of youtube and the internet. Fairly certain this inept treatment went on years ago. We just were not aware of it. Maybe those MU-2 and PT motors were "crappy" for a reason?!!
I want to see the video of when he attempts to run that -9W after sitting about a week.
And just remember folks, it's o.k. to put your locomotive under a faucet of running water as long as you are careful. And... it's possible to pick up a $#@% by the clean end, too.
Unspoken expectations are premeditated failures.

Step 1: Turn on video camera. Step 2: Hold electric train under faucet. Step 3: ???? Step 4: PROFIT!
I wonder if he does that with his Xbox too

Ironically, the house fire was started by one of the locos he washed in the sink.
