My kids picked this Santa Fe F9 up for me at a show last sat for $2.00. Mint in box though it doesnt run. Gonna mess with it when I get time.

If it doesn't run because of a cracked axle gear: Northwest Shortline has a replacement gear. $9.95 each. Made of machined Delrin, so it shouldn't crack anytime within a couple of decades. www.nwsl.com

I took it apart and the plastic casing for the motor was melted. I think I got a spare in my tackle box some where. I already got five f9 now on my layout so this can wait a little. Thanks for the info, ill make note of that.
