Guess ill put a break in the Hustler theme ,I got this at a train show on sat and I got it for $5.00 the guy knew nothing about it. Its a 0-4-0 #24 switcher. Its extremely dirty but I put it on the layout and it runs great.

That's pretty likely a Lima unit you have. Have one myself... I think it was distributed by AHM at one time....

I found this Mantua unit at an Antique's show Jan 7th, bought a whole platte of Mantua , 2 steam engines and 7 cars, for $80. Anyway, this 1950's? Mantua 4-6-2 is missing the 4 and the 2 , I will see about getting replacements. Also has a plastic mini-box full of all the sliders and side rod pieces, will have to lay them out to see if those are all there. Haven't powered it up yet.

This is my first large ( I think ) metal steam engine, most everything else I have metal are boosters or switchers in 0-4-0 or 0-6-0. The dealer was overpriced on much of her toys, but I thought $80 for this batch not too out of line, even though needing some work. The Booster I got has a broken off rear step, but otherwise looks complete. The main driver wheels have split the brass rings, too, so new ones will be needed, guess the zamac centers are expanding. Oh well, overall not a bad day at the antique show, found other HO trains and slot car accessories to buy at the main vendor I went to search for. He'll be back in 2 months for another show, he has a B&O Doodlebug I want.

Lionel Early Athearn Most recent Athearn... 60 seems common to me.
The Lionel and early Athearn units do not have the rolling pin, the part between the axle and motor spindle...

Here's a "hustler" of a different sort...

Mantua "Little Bee" switcher from the late 40's / early 50's (IIRC; exact date escapes me). Missing some trim and a lot more work besides that...

But since this is how it looked when I got it, I'm happy enough for now.

Tony,
I have a strong affection for that little locomotive:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/9977705@N05/sets/72157628793851859/
I have always heard of it being referred to as the "Busy Bee" here you are calling it the "Little B" so I "googled it" and low and behold.. I stumbled on a old post by Loopy where he posted a picture of a kit and on the cover was printed "Busy Little B"! Looks like we learn something new every day.
Man! I really wish I could have had more time to get to really know Loopy.

Here's a follow up of my previous WM Atlas GP-40. I think this tooling is like a cheap wh*^e! Now that Bachmann has it, it really looks sharp since alot of the tooling has been reworled, especially the fuel tanks.

I had some critters I was going to post. But this engine just left the bench and I'm pretty proud of this one. Stewart Hobbies GE U28B. Pretty sure this was a birthday gift from back in August. Its a older model, but I was amazed at how many separate parts it had. So its been laid up for a few months while I worked on getting it how I wanted. /tyco/forum/uploaded/ChrisC/DSCF2907.jpg /tyco/forum/uploaded/ChrisC/DSCF2912.jpg
Compared the first shot to the prototype picture. This is probably the BEST job I've done so far. That's not saying much but I'll take it lol. http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1077942
