Transformers are like the asparagus of the hobby world...almost no one wants the original stinkers from the 70's and 80's. Or any time. They're everywhere, and worth almost nothing to most people, unless it's a VERY nice original Heavy Duty model, or some collectible type. I'd think you're wasting your time trying to sell it, unless it's a ZW150 Lionel transformer, good luck generating any interest.
However, I am a slot car guy, too. Here's some of my purchases at an antique show today Jan 7th.

talk about a rarity - find me more of THESE, not transformers! A pair of Aurora grandstands, I paid $10 apiece today , they are like impossible to find. I think this was a good deal.

Some Aurora and Tyco AMC slot cars and truck. Actually, one of the Javelins is an AF/X,not a Tyco.

here are some reproduction Aurora bodies by Playing Mantis / Polar Lights. They have pull-back chassis's that then shoot forward, or you can take the bodies off and put them on original '60's Aurora slot chassis's to replace those busted up bodies. $5 apiece I got them for today.

Here's a hybrid for ya - a slot car chassis that runs on HO train track, the Tyco Turbo Train. This is my first white version, I have the Yellow version, the red and silver Santa Fe, and a freight version in Santa Fe. The motor runs fine, but the traction tires were dry-rotted and it threw one, and I cut the other off finally. Will replace them.
Yes, slot car people on the board, but I doubt any takers for the transformer. Good luck with that.
