Since its that cold cold time of year, ( yes, here in my area, it's in the low 50's/high40's in grand ol' Florida!)I have gathered these projects up for the winter. Some I have had for years awaiting reincarnations or new leases of life. Here we go!
First one is my Mantua Pacific. Had it for 4 years. It was a serious paint chip monster! Not bad for $20. It was a kitbuilt in the 70's according to the seller. It ran better in reverse, so I took it apart, cleaned it all up, and left it in pieces in baggies and box. Now all I need is to redo the tender trucks and get the firemen's side eccentric and piston rods.

Second is my half-way 'bashed MDC boxcab sitting on a Athearn SW7 frame and SW& calf shell. Gonna add a Mantua bell and Athearn F-7 horns, repaint and fill in hole.

Thrird is my Rivarossi Casey Jones hand basket. I got all the parts and everything now to reassemble it. Got in a box of average run of the mill Tycp trains for free from a friend!Sat like this for 4-5 years.

Finally, my future handcar/speeder shed. Had it for 8-9 years. Finally stripped it down and ready for a repaint

I did a spreadsheet of all the project ideas I have, some I have in various stages of completion, some are just started by collecting the actual pieces. I finally , last month, made a Top Five list of which of these projects I should concentrate on and COMPLETE. Then move on to the next ones. I'm bad about getting things starting, then letting them languish. Going to try to get some of my projects completed in 2012 ( before the end of the world, heh heh ). Here's a look at my list - anyone else want to share their projects here?

Very ambitious for a procrastinator, but I"m a dreamer. Sometimes I actually make them come true! Hopefully 2012 will see me at least complete a fraction of this list to reality.

AMC, I'm like you, I have a long list of things I've started. One thing I haven't done is put everything in a list... that's a wonderful idea. Great list by the way, I can't wait to see your completions next year.

Justin, your boxcab project looks great.

Sure...I'll just quit my job and start the photoshoot tonight. LOL. Well, I can share a few glimpses of what I have started, or collected :

Above - The Silver Sausage, one of my few almost-completed projects. The Tyco Observation cars need to have the coupler relocated to the body, and I wanted a silver B unit, not black, so I need to find a new shell , but this train is DCC'ed and running. The theory of ops is that this is an excursion train, with the controls in each Obs car end.

Above - started stripping off the red Nabisco text, that part is done on all 7 Model Power cars now . I've also painted all doors blue. Need to overpaint the left side logo red, and add AMC specific test on the white part. And put Kadee-equipped frames under all, etc, etc.

Above - some Bachmann Tri-levels I've added 1/87 diecast AMC Gremlin and Pacer cars to. Got plenty more Tri-levels to use, but need a better way to secure the cars. I'm thinking hot glue or silicone.

Above - part of my boating consist, I've got at least one AHM with boat, but would like more. I've got 3 propeller cars now. Still working on this consist.

Above - trying to locate more translucent cars for my Ghost Train consist. Bought a Walthers Trainline engine ( molding from Train Miniature, btw ), and used that chassis with the whitish shell, fits but no way to hold it on yet. Will add greenish LEDs inside and hopefully pulsating slowly.

That's all I really have pictures of right now. Others await my time and energy ( both of which keep diminishing with age ). At least I have a goal. Not sure if I can still score. Hope to turn some from dream to reality this coming year, anyway.

Jerry
