My Train CLub is having Open Houses all this month of December, Saturday I ran a Burlington Northern consist of red and green cars. I decided to stick with that theme, but with other cars. I got up early to make coffee Sunday for the wife, then fixed up some of the Lionel cars which needed some attention to couplers, wheels, etc. I got my consist fixed up, and headed out later to the Open House. Ran it around for a few hours, and got more than a few smiles from the kids and parents. Ok, not a TRUE serious train, but it was fun.

The Missile car finally gave me too many derails, so I pulled it off. But the rest of them did very well. I had fun with it for a few hours.

Cool Jerry - Honestly - Most of the people that come to view a model train display don't care about the trains realism - While they may appreciate it - They would rather see fantasy type equipment. I say this based on comments by the crowds when i did my Christmas train.

Sounds like the right kind of train to me.
Is this layout at the train station near Quantico, VA? Thought I remember you saying you had something to do with that??

Yes, this is the PRince WIlliam Model Railroad CLub's VRE Train Station layout. WWW.PWMRC.org Only place I have to run my trains , I can't even keep my 4x4 test loop cleaned off long enough to run trains, I keep filling it up again. sigh. Anyway, we need to do some work on the layout, have some switches we want to convert back to manual from remote control, and maybe replace a bridge, which is having alignment problems. Fun winter projects. :)
