Some business has been tossing out the light-weight Paper boxes, so I decided to experiment with some. I fished a few out of the dumpster at work last week, and cut the bottom off the main box to match the top lid. Makes a nice shorty storage box, I re-enforced the ends due to lack of real glue on these box end flaps. Even my cat Roameo likes it! NOT a cat bed, sorry, big guy! Anyway, usually too cheesy for real storage, but cut down to hold Tyco train cars, I think they'll work just fine. And easy to find.

My wife always brings those kind of boxes with nice lids home from work, except they are about 12" deep. She keeps asking me, "do you still want boxes", I just say ohhh yeah, I will take those boxes till the house is full, lol.

Grab some Pizza boxes from the Local Pizza Hut so it's Tyco Appropriate. Seriously you can tailor what you're storing to a fiven box (Pizza) size. I usually put rolling stock two wide in the large boxes, med, for like 630's a small will hold 4 Tyco GP20's or F7's...
They are sturdy and stack pretty nicely... Btw, PH has these little "riser" inserts that go in to keep the lid from sagging down and lifting your cheeze off the Pizza, handing to have if stacking these boxes. I used to pay about 10c/box....
