Good weathering job Ken.
You have several with the same character of weathering, get themin the same batch?

Tyco club car from the 60's (obviously based on Tyco's NYC boxcar of the same era)... from what I can tell this layout still exists even some 50 years later, though in a modified form.
But that's not why this car is so cool. See, it actually fortells the vehicle of the looming 2012 apocalypse. Because if you ever see a volcano in Iowa, you can be sure the end is near....

My COTW is a Maxwell House covered hopper. Don't know who made it - it just says "Made in China" on the bottom.

This isn't quite as exciting as everybody else, but I decided to just grab something off the shelf that I haven't posted before.

from what I know Tyco went off the ACF builders drawing, unfortunately the diemakers took the drawing and went literally by it, hence the two different hatches (ACF planned these cars with both types of hatch arrangements) fortunately both types of hatches are in detail part form so I usually "correct" that little error...

A Tyco reefer. Got that and a redbox era Mantua (diecast frame) stock car together for that price on that box!

My COTW is a downsized scale, I took a Maisto On Track Tanker I just bought at a flea this past weekend, and tried on some TT gauge trucks I'd bought off of Ebay many months ago. Hadn't felt like digging out my stored ones, so when I ran across some loose ones, I got a few. Anyway, the trucks appear a tad wide, and high, but I can cut the mounting points down some, and live with the wide stance. Overall, I think converting On Track rolling stock is feasible. At $10 per truck pair, from China, a bit more than Tyco, but I do want to get some American TT rolling stock, and Maisto stuff is about all there is.

Maybe I'll spend some of my OT money after Christmas on more of the TT trucks. Hard to find them anywhere, so if I have to go to China, so be it. Fit well, and should work OK.

I was hoping that was the Captain America car in an upcoming "Avengers" themed set. A BN boxcar will represent Hulk. I'll have to think about Thor and Iron Man.

Here is my car of the week, or should I say cars. I did not know there were 2 versions of this car. That is until I had 2 side by side and noticed one does not have white lettering on the bottom and the other does. Do any of you know why, or what the heck may have happened? Since this car was only available for a year I wouldn't think that there would be any variances, especially something that noticeable. I am guessing the one with no lettering was made first. But other than that I am clueless.

I was sorta thinking the same thing. The one on the right with writing says a consolidated foods company Responsive to consumer needs on the left of the car with the logo. And it is like that on both sides. And the car without writing is blank on both sides. Weird thing is, I had the one with no logo and writing first and thought nothing of it, because I had nothing to compare it to.
I love that non Tyco Maxwell house car by the way, that is slick. I am not sure which I like better, the Tyco version or that version...

If your grandfather hadn't worn it, you wouldn't exist...
The Boxcar your Boxcar could smell like. Undoubtedly one of Tyco's coolest products and rightly so. Old Spice boxcar, 50ft of manliness on wheels of steel with a nautical motif. Hello, sailor!
