SInce 1978 to the end of production did Mantua ever make a Plymouth Industrial Switcher with a DuPont Roadname? If so, can anyone post a pic? Thanks!

Here's a link to a very old '40's Dupont Plymouth switcher being restored, a former Dupont Explosives plant engine. Has Weyrhouser logo on it now, whom it was sold to, but it is being restored to a Dupont loco eventually.

Pretty neat.

You're talking about this little guy, right?
http://www.hoseeker.org/assemblyexplosiontyco/tyco227industrialpg1.jpg
It was made in so many industrial schemes, it wouldn't surprise me. GIC had a thread a few years ago with a collection of them that he'd bought, but I couldn't locate it.

and it's not mentioned in any resource I've found, nor found any mention on auctions either. Seen refs to Westinghouse and others but not Dupont. I'll have to keep my eyes open for this one. I have Republic Steel, UP, and a black unmarked one so far.

Thanks Ken, I tried to find something like that on Ho Seeker. Most of those are not common. Rarely seen on Ebay, besides the Ford,I think the DuPont is the hardest to find. I have only seen a couple of the large lettered RCA switchers also.

I've been looking for the RCA switcher, because I collect/play records. Quite a few are RCA's so this switcher would fit in perfectly. I do own a Bell telephone loco, and must say these switchers run very well.

When I get back home in a couple weeks I will post a pic of all the variations.
The earlier PI Switchers made in the 60's had a darker shade of paint on the roofs. The later variations (post-1978 Mantua) bottoms had a screw instead of the rivet. I think the ATSF was made earlier in the70's.

Yes MB, there are 2 versions of the RCA logo. The round one with the electric bolt type letters, and the later blocky letters. Me wants both!

I have the Bell Telephone, but would love an RCA and Timken in particular. This was a cool series.

Somewhere I have an original set of rails for these puppies. I remember Shay doing a custom set of rails for one of these, maybe it was a hustler???

Those little buggers are tons of fun when you have roadnames to go with rolling stock...

I've installed the handrails since those pics were taken. I know where I can get a Timken one, I didn't pick it up last time. Have the Bell Telephone one too. There is a variant on the Hooker one (smaller logo). Would love to get the Boise Cascade one since its logo is similar to the one I designed for the Saint Canard Midland.
