Finally got one of these. It's pretty good except it's missing one roof hatch. I'll have to track one down.

My COTW is my first of this maker - an Ertl HO train car. I'd forgotten about them, but remember some dusty post from times past about Ertl making train cars. Got this at a small VF post show a couple weeks ago. Didn't find the name until this morning when taking it out for a photo shoot.

The detailing is very nice, the weight is pretty low, wouldn't make NMRA standards, but for what it is, I like it. Unusual.

Stole some time for an NMRA show in Louisville yesterday AM. Man, these shows are great - small, but ripe with great deals.
For the look and scarcity of it, this is by far the best $2.50 car I have ever found:

Impeccably custom-painted Athearn - the removed roofwalk with filled holes gives it away. Whoever did this did an amazing job. Short-lived road from the late 70's with a striking paint scheme.
