Ben, I think your "Silver Lodge" car is a Life-Like, just FYI.
Here's an interesting one I found in a dollar bin at the Great Midwest show in October:

This is the first and so far only piece of "european" rolling stock I own. It's made by Lima and appears to be an Italian prototype, based on the embossed markings (which I painted). But what is it, exactly? I can't tell if its missing something on the hinged end. And the large lever on the one side is pretty conspicuous. And why does the rack tilt open? And the hinged end doesn't look right without the snubbers... only one side has a ladder... sort of indicates another car should be paired with it....?
Is this based on a real european prototype, or is it pure childhood play fancy?
Either way, I love autoracks so for a buck I couldn't pass it up. Loaded up it doesn't look too bad:

I might switch the trucks and wheels for something a little more modern and American, though. The Lima wheels are downright comically oversized! Things is those huge wheels bring the deck and couplers to a standard height, so it's probably easiest to leave them alone.

Lots of great stuff this week.
spiderj76: love that car. I've got some Fleischmann rolling stock that's unique as well.
catfordken: If you're reading this, how do those body mount Kadees work? Any specific size to use? I've got some of those cars with broken couplers/coupler mounts, and that would solve my problem.
Here's my contribution:

It's an AHM car that I picked up at a small train show. For those who don't know, Warp's plastics was started by Harold Warp. He made a fortune making plastic fences that you could put up to keep your chickens in and such. He used the money to create his "Pioneer Village" in Minden, Nebraska. It's basically a homemade museum to show his collections.
I went there last summer, it's quite a sight: www.pioneervillage.org

My COTW is a domed passenger car, not sure of maker. I like domed passengers, think I paid $3 for it at the show.

hi b77,see photo,i usually paint the white plasticard first then attach the kadee by screw or glue dependant on on chassis material,ie wood plastic or metal ken
kadee do make conversions for most makes, and that ups the cost,as each make may use different conversion kits, this way i just keep no5s to hand

Hey Gareth, I now have 101. I have honestly decided to stop once I get 10 of any which I have met that with most of them now.
Seems like the very common Sante Fe come in every lot I have more than 10 of them. I was cosidering ebay for them but have decided to keep the extras for parts trucks for missing wheels & dollies. If I can find time I'd like to custom paint one or two..

I see passenger cars! :D
Digging around on Google yesterday I finally found some info on my Grant streamliners. It turns out Grant did a run of Canadian-style passenger cars (among other things) back in 1957. They produced what was essentially the first HO-scale model of "The Canadian" Anyway, here are two of my cars:

The "GLAMOUR GIRLS of 1957" as the ad states

I want to take a second to compliment DaCheez's modeling skills....that layout always looks sharp, and the mirror in the picture above is a neat idea.

Thanks Burlington! I'm still learning, but it's always nice to hear compliments Other than this forum I really don't have any opportunity to show it to anyone. For the record, that mirror was there long before the trains, but it does add a lot to the scene
