Hi Guys, This is my first DCC unit. I am running DC only and would like to know what I need to do to run it on my layout. Thanks. Ken

hi ken nice big beast,if its bachmann they should run straight out of the box,ken bachmann did 3 versions dc only, dcc ready and dcc on board all run on dc track as they are backwards compatible http://www.bachmanntrains.com/home-usa/dwg/dwgs/82121.pdf also some people say the dcc equiped run better if you remove the chip and replace it with jumper that came with loco, but i leave it as is

I concur... I have several Bachmann locos with DCC on board and they run fine on both DC and DCC. The only ones that might give you a bit of a problem are the ones with sound... they run on DC but often they need 5 volts or more before they move.

In theory, the DCC "standard" requires that it be able to run DC as you do ken.

Very very nice !!!
You hit a soft spot with me with that one....on the O gauge side of the cellar I only buy PRR equipment but when I saw this model at a local show I had to have it !!!

I also bought a N gauge version about a month ago for 25.00 (a whole set)

We have a lot of Bachnann DCC equipment and it all runs great out of the box !

Ken:
I just realized you pirated the LotW section instead of putting in this weeks LotW Nov.13th-19th
There is a Misc Loco section if you're not sure who manufactured it.

You started a "special" section in the LotW category area named for your Locomotive, instead of inserting it in this weeks LotW (Locomotive of the Week) thread that this week I think was started by Sean.
