all metal engine that has been repainted to tyco scheme.Any info will be much appreciated. Thanks....Fred

RRFAN:
Is your shark slotted at the center line or above the cab windows, left and right above the cab? As you pointed out, the sharks were tapped both ways as well as without any horn slots at all. Typically it seems to be the silver TYCO-marked sharks that are sans horns, the Mantua-marketed sharks with two small die-cast horns--left and right--and the later Tyco RF-16s with the single center horn.
I have fashioned after-market Kemtron and/or Cal-scale single-post lost wax brass horns into a reasonable fascimile of the long RF-16 horn and I might also suggest taking a pair of standard Tyco EMD-F horns and making two-into-one for your silver/red/ochre shark. I think, however, the effect is better with the brass horn conversion, they are longer and more slender, thereby more closely replicating the original effect. I don't know of any after-market supplier of shark horns.
good luck,
Magnolia Academy
