Just got this off Ebay, never had a Japanese metal HO steam engine before. Is this a Tea Kettle, or something else? Just tested it, it seems to be the steam equivalent of a Hustler, once you crank the voltage up, it hauls coal! Still has some low-speed crawl, though, once going.

The tender is missing one side truck and the two rear axles. So I'll have to get that fixed, or find another complete truck to replace it with.
I noticed in HO SEEKERs literature section, there's a New Ones section but no New One. Didn't see any engines listed there, anyway. So I'm not sure what this is I have other than it's made in Tokyo, Japan, and says New One Model on it. Any help ID'ing this appreciated.

New One was imported by a number of companies, but the Camelback 0-4-0 was sold by either Aristo Craft or HOTCO.

Those seem to be common and mistakingly put in the Mantua section on eBay. I almost bought one once from a seller on another forum, but, bought his Varney 4-6-0 instead.

Jerry ; You are missing the Firemans shelter . How is the front detail. Are the pilot steps intact. Also can't tell what the rear of the tender looks like. The Seakers has info on that loco in old catalogs. Look in AHM, AHC, and Aristo-Craft. They came from one retailer in long narrow boxes. They also came in the standard Aristo -Craft clear window display box. The other retailer had a all brass switching tender behind it. That die cast tender has a habbit of falling appart. The loco boiler can be put on to a Mantua 0-4-0 or 0-6-0 drive. Here is one that I did. I also shortned the Tyco switcher tender. frank
