Went to a small firehouse Train Show in Winchester, VA yesterday, and acquired a Tyco 12-wheeler. I think it's Denver and Rio Grande, but it's been painted over. Anyway, while looking at the literature for it, I noticed that the driver wheels are incorrect to the parts drawing. The drawing shows the inner two pair of drivers have no flanges, and the front and back drivers have traction tires. Mine has the traction tires in the inner rear set, and the front inner set of geared drivers actually has flanges on them. So THREE sets of drivers have flanges, and the one that doesn't is in the rear. Here's a pic of the drawing from Model Power archives, and my new engine. Anyone have one of these 4-8-0's by Mantua, and is the drawing ( I assume ) correct, and where would I find a set of non-flanged , geared drivers to replace this incorrect set? How easy are the pins to remove to put the non-flanged set in the middle like they're supposed to be?

Wonder if this engine ever ran correctly, or someone tried to repair it with other parts, or what. I'm gonna assume that 3 flanged driver sets would make it difficult to operate on 18" radius curves. Or maybe it runs well with an 0-6-0 arrangement, and the rear non-flanged set just overhangs slightly. Anyone tried this configuration?

Ok, then I feel better about it. I've PLENTY of experience in electronics with incorrect drawings, not unusual there. There's no wire coming out the back, so I'll have to take it apart and find out where it is, AND acquire a drawbar as well, that's missing as well. Or make one.
