That's really cool. I'm sure you need quite a bit of know-how to do it though You can buy clocks like this can you not?

You need some electronics skill, that's for sure. You need a diode array under the disk (not sure how many), and a microprocessor to control the LED patterns. It would be a fun project.

There are LED clocks available with spinning or moving LED's that display patterns or messages, but nothing quite like this.
