Hey AF:

Here's my question, by painting it this way were you trying to make it look like the rare Tyco Pennsy version of this (leaving horns yellow) or like a more prototypical unit (why then leave the horns yellow)?

Thanks,
Gareth

Thanks for the encouraging comments.

Romcat,
I was trying to make it look like a clone of the PRR Tyco Mantua C430 so mine would have mate to doublehead it with. I almost wish I had decalled it as 4301 also. It started out as another PT Virginian 430. I have extra decals and toyed with making another. I'd like to find or make better cab decals. These horns are close but the real PRR Alcos are more orange.
Thanks for the interest from up north :)

it would be easy to criticise if i could do better but i cannot, lovely job, think by putting 4302 you are complementing it,not trying to lead anyone down the garden path that its anything more than a clone, well done ken

Thanks a lot Catfordken.

It looks neat to see the two running together. Maybe I need a third one to run with them :)

Romcat,
I'm from PA so PRR is a favorite. I think the PRR scheme is a bit plain, almost reminds one of the steamer scheme. I'd like to see them, and some PRRs had more style, spashed with Keystone PRR logos. I have a Stewart 628 and an AHM U28(?) and some SW1200s that have the Keystones and it dresses them up.
The Stewart and AHM have nice versions of the brunswick green.

AF:

You know what, it's spartan and subtle, both of which I like.

A Keystone would not go amiss however!
