I took this railfanning on Monday. I couldn't get close enough for a good shot. Is this what I think it is and UP E8? It is 6 axled.

I thought UP painted the area infront of the windshield green on th E8. Or am I thinking of the PA1?

you're absolutely right tkruger UP did that to reduce glare
Whre is this? This has to be some tourist/historical rail line

UP did paint the cowl area green on the E8s and others. Some pictures show it faded to a light gray. This is in WV at a historical society where these other pics came from. It does look like a UP yellow though and it is a six axle EMD unit.

I have done some searching on the web. There were other road names painting E8s yellow:
Chicago & North Western Railroad
Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad

Neither of these painted the hoods.

My friend at the LHS says its' an F unit from Milwakee Road due for a cosmetic resto only.
My pic is so bad its' hard to tell.
