Hi all, My name is Ray and am very excited to have found this forum. A bit about me; I received my first train set at the age of 10. It was the GIJOE Electric Train Set and since then I have been hooked. Tyco is where I got started and since have moved on to other brands like Athearn, Spectrum and others. Still, Tyco is where I got started and hold a special place for their HO stuff. I got out of the hobby for about 10 years, (College, Work, Girls) but found myself pulled back into the hobby. I also model 1/35 armor and 1/72 aircraft. My schedule is still hectic but spend my free time working on my hobbies. Currently upgrading, maintaining my Tyco Fleet. I have 2 sharknose Baldwins, 1 Alco (which still runs great) and a Chatanooga steamer that makes more noise than anything. Not the best runners but they do shae the track with my other engines.
Well anyhoot! Glad to have found you nice folks and look forward to some engine tech talk with you all.
Cheers! Ray

Yes, welcome aboard, Ray. We have all kinds here - Tyco nuts, nauts, and nerds. LOL. My first train in '63 was a Lionel 0-27, but later on switched to HO and Tyco/AHM . Still have both my original train sets, too. Anyway, as stated before , we all like pictures here, so get some of your trains when you can and upload them when you can ( see the silver camera icon on far right in Format line of posting - 3 steps - chose/find picture, upload picture, then put picture into message ). Take a bit of getting used to, but once done it's easy. Sounds like you've got a satisfying hobby to continue with, so we'll help any way we can to keep'em running! Come back again!

Hi Ray:
You have come aboard at a fortuitous time! I'm clearing out a bunch of vintage Tyco and a few 1/72nd scale unusual aircrft models. I can back channel you about that later.......
I hope you enjoy the forum this is definitely a niche of the model train world! It's usually one of the better ones though Do you have a layout, a theme around your railroad interests, like the Espee avatar you chose?
Again welcome, enjoy, and dive in!

Thanks for the welcome. I am always in the market for new toys. . Just let me know that you have and we can make a deal.
I used to have a 4/8 layout in my backhouse but been so busy these last few years that I really have not done much with it. I hope to get it back in service soon.

Thanks top. I grew up a stone throw away from Taylor Yard in Los Angeles so the Southern Pac railroad has always been very special to me. Not much left unfortunately as the old yard was scrapped a few years ago. Metrolink has set up shop in the old yard.

Defiently looking to add a daylight to my layout, especially since it did run in front of my house back in the days. I seem to have more UP than SP for some reason but that will soon change. I'm just having some fun wrenching on old engines.
