Does anyone know a fair price for a red roof Purina box car in nice condition? I don't get real excited over the common blue version(s), but I may want to buy a red one sometime as I do like it a little..
Yes MicroBen, I have "stolen" this photo from a prior ebay auction.....

Wow, that's the first time I've seen that one, Walt. I have several storage boxes worth of Purina cars for my pet consist, but I don't have a red-roofed unit. Nor have I seen one before. Didn't know they existed. I'll have to keep my eye open for one now.

I really don't think Ebay sellers are "stealing" our photo's Ben. I beLIEve they are just "borrowing" them...

| These aren't as uncommon as I once suspected... in fact I've seen them at train shows with some frequency. Can probably get one for under $10 or maybe $5 if the moon is right.

A couple years back I found a seller at a train show with a bunch of purina cars. I bought 1 red and 4 blue ones. The red one was priced exactly the same as the blue. I don't think they're that uncommon.

After watching this one on Ebay for months not sell at a starting bid of 19.95, I bought it today on a new listing for $9.99...

Something about the red Purina box cars that I like. Won this one while being away from home bidding in a motel... I also bought the one pictured above sometime back. I have two and that's enough. http://www.ebay.com/itm/271121016953?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
