How common is the AHM BL-2? Is there a lot on them out there?
I just got a BL-2 Bangor & Aroostock in real good shape. This is the first one I have noticed. I checked HO Seekers and its there I checked BAR web site and got some info.
Thanks.

They're very common, though a bit less so than the FM C-Liner.

The ones made up until about 1970 had 5 pole motors and plastic and brass gearing, after that they changed to a 3 pole motor and all plastic gears.

Fairly common, Ken. See them often on Ebay, anywhere from $9 to 29 each, the older AHM variety. I have about 15 or 20, no idea really. I have all the roadnames they made, plus a few custom ones I got off Ebay ( Pennsylvania, C&O in all blue, a green one, and I forget what else ). The 5-pole units run the nicest, of course.

Hey guys:

I expect to offer this week a P2K one of these in Rock Island Red/Black. I'll try to sell it as a unit to one of you BL "weirdo's" If I can't get a taker at a reasonable price I'll pull the chassis cause of the Blomberg trucks are common for emd's up to the GP40 and drop a Cary GP metal shell on there and offer the shell seperately. Trust me when I say the P2K one is light years ahead of the AHM one, I've had both....

Note: I no longer have the box...

Ben:

Mine will be like most of the stuff I'll offer here pretty affordable. Some more than others. The BL2 for example has value in the chassis. I can use it under something else.
