You know considering the US mIlitary has only 1 combatant for every 10 in it's ranks, you guys are stretched pretty thin, don't you think!

The pic in the Tyco Collectors Guide of the C430 PRR Alco is the pic from the auction where I won my PRR C430.

Heh heh, I'm internet famous now. Make a portmanteau, and you get InFamous. WOOOOOOOT!

The nature of the internet is cross-pollenization and reuse. The best one can hope for is attribution, but it's not like I can sit here and say I've never re-used a pic somewhere. Heck, trying to trace the original source of something can be impossible in some cases... you might credit somebody only to learn they lifted it from somewhere else. At the end of the day it's all public.

The main issue I have in this instance is the gross misrepresentation on ebay. What that person is selling is NOT what's in the pic, even if it is very close or identical for practical purposes.

My only recourse is a watermark, something I've considered and decided against several times. However, owing to some issues with the backend software on my site, I've been considering watermarks as a means to reinstate the captions on the collection gallery.... may as well do the other pics too. But with thousands of pics to do, it's not worth the effort. Plus, unless you destroy the pic by placing the watermark in an obtrusive area, determined types can crop it out entirely (ask me how I know ).

The internet giveth, the internet taketh... in the end it's just a picture, nothing more.

But I did get a chuckle ;)

Two things;

One nice to see someone else use the term "Portmanteu". I actually develop my own, among them from my college days "IDpulse"

and more recently "FauxPang" I'll leave that to your imagination.

The other thing was, I knew you'd put this in perspective with all the internet related work you've done!

NOTE: Edited only for spelling NOT content, now move along......
