* Here is a little bit of simple kitbashing. I found a good use for a Tyco Chata Choo Choo body. I reweighted it, and mounted it on a Aristo-Craft Atlantic drive. Then added a MDC tender. Things like this were done often in the past . Now with MDC droping it's medium size steam engines way back when, it is very had to do now. frank

That 0-8-0/2-8-0 boiler looks great as an Atlantic, Frank.
Ken, I love that switcher. I don't know if the DL&W had any, but the Morristown & Erie has one lettered for the Susquehanna.

NickelPlate, The NYS&W did have a little Plymouth switcher for their Sea Land intermodal terminal back in the 50's,or 60's.

Not exactly a locomotive but it is my posting for the week. Has the open brass gears and wheels on it. Someday I plan to light it :)

My loco for this week is an EMD Critter, 40-ton unit, DCC ready. Picked it up at my LHS for $25 week before last. I think my Penn Line unit is smaller, but this one I can run at my club's functions. I am thinking of using it to pull an open trolley-type passenger car for tourists.

This is the Penn Line "D1" Ken:

However, when they first came out, they referred to it as the "Mini Diesel". This one was an all lead boiler and the motor actually stuck through the back of the cab. They came with a belt drive. It is very heavy too. I have since sold this one, but I have ~3 more still. I even have one with the pulleys swapped for gears. That one is a keeper for sure.

Hey, Bus! Is your RI SD40 a Mehano model? If it has the drive mechanism that I'm thinking of, it will pull tree stumps at half thottle. I love those 12-wheel-drive monsters. -Todd
