Post your differences pictures too
I has 2 Gondolas
1 made by Mantua & 1 made by Tyco
There are slight differences but not much Such as paint color, metal trucks & metal bottoms on Mantua Whereas Tyco used all plastic
Top is Tyco Bottom is Mantua

Also notice that the Mantua has a built date where the Tyco doesn't

The Mantua air brake tanks & others are a mirror image to the Tyco
You can see the Tyco name is under the trucks(bogies) The Mantua name is in the middle

Bumping this old thread. Yes, this post just about sums it up. Growing up, I had my older brother's Mantua cars, but by the time I was buying rolling stock, I focused on Athearn, because the Tyco cars had become too plastic and shiny. I did have a few of the later plastic Tyco cars, but eventually sought out the superior earlier versions with metal parts.
