Anybody here know if Alan Kulwicki memobrillia is worth anything? I was told once anything prior to '93 is. Does this hold true? Also, was there ever any his cars made in the slotcar world?

| I had to Google the name to see who you were talking about. I actually don't know much about NASCAR. Not too many fans around here that I know of.

I was working retail when he died. Dealers were clearing our shelves and tripling the prices of our stuff---and getting it, but that quickly fell out later that year with the death of Davey Allison. It only holds for the short term, as was shown, few even remember them...
I've managed to pick up a couple of trucks since their untimely ends...at less than they retailed for now, that's how quickly the "value" goes out of them.

You don't have to know much about NASCAR to notice one of Kulwicki's inventions; the Polish victiory lap. He originated the act of taking the checkered flag and then taking a lap around the track in reverse.
So when you see this done sometime; Alan Kulwicki did it first.

Mark Martin also does the "Polish" victory lap. Not to many folks knows who really started that tradition. A lot of big names in NASCAR died around this time including Ken Richmond.

Even Dale Earnhardt Sr stuff isn't as high-dollar as it once was. People still collect it, but not with the same open pocketbooks as before. Obviously, when a person dies is the time to cash in. I tried selling my Micheal Jackson Thriller jacket last year, to see if it held any value. Got a few looks but no bids. So, don't expect to get rich on your AK stuff.

Good point Jerry! Not that I think my stuff of AK is of value, though. Kinda like those folks who have a brownbox era trainset and automatically think since its OOP, its worth cash!
