Jaw dropping in its immensity and meticulous craftsmanship.
In viewing the track plan, from your well positioned photography,
I note that even though it is big, really big, with a ton of different
elements going on, they have taken exceptional care to not
over complicate it and try to squeeze in as much track
as humanly possible within any given space.

The struggle I have had over the decades is trying to do too much, and
getting swamped by my own ingenuity, and completely
drowning in my own mud. (BUT I am getting there...).

I am not alone, our club layout of the Railroad Model and Historical Association of El Paso,
(the name alone is a giveaway) fell into the same trap as I
and tried to squeegee in every possible amount of track, over,
under, and through to the point where it is difficult, or if one
prefers, challenging to operate upon (but I try).

A lot of keen forsight is evident in these photographs.

Last of my videos from yesterday.










The Club’s HO scale layout takes up most of the floor space in our 11,000 square foot facility.
It has now been under construction for over 40 years.
Like the building it’s housed in the layout is being built in phases as time and money permit.
There is no formal timetable for completion but there is a basic track plan and a general sequence for construction.
Work is expected to continue for many years to come. DCC operation.
