Here's my LOTW offering:

A Tyco "Classic" -- Chattanooga GP20 #5628 -- now serving on RETRO TYCO. I obtained the "Geep" shell in great condition with original plastic handrails from a trade with TF member WillV, and mounted it on functioning MU-2 style trucks. However, when I tried operating it on RETRO TYCO, the rear unpowered MU-style truck kept getting derailed over turnout tracks. So, I took the loco out-of-service until I could get functioning PT trucks. I did get a great deal on a for-parts Chattanooga GP20 with functioning trucks from Ebay, but after a bit of running under the shell w. handrails, the drive gear popped off. :( So.....I finally received another for-parts Tyco "Warbonnet" Santa Fe GP20 that I won at a cheap price on Ebay last week... and after switching trucks, replacing a bottom plate, installing traction tires, and lubrication, my Chattanooga GP20 with PowerTorque is Now Working, and very well at that!!

I picked up a boxed Bachmann F9 over the weekend, it is practically brand new! I haven't given this one a run yet so I don't know how it will perform, but it is an 80s/90s train set type complete with the pancake motor and horn hooks. Unlike my other two Santa Fe bulldogs (an F7 and an F9) which have a chromed body, this one has the simplified red warbonnet design with an unpainted body. Photo has been touched up after noticing how terrible the lighting was on last week's B unit photos.

As none of my stock uses horn hooks these days (except for a pair of boxed 70s Life-Like Dubuque reefers), I might have to make a transition car for this one. Luckily I still have a ton of Athearn horn hooks which fit nicely inside Kadee draft gear boxes so it shouldn't be too hard. The Varney B unit might just be the perfect candidate for this, given a bit of extra weight (I had already converted this one to Kadees).

That old EJE paint job is a slick scheme, nicely executed.
Within my memory, EJE was just dip-job orange. I like this bow wave better for a streamlined engine like the shark.

The Auto-Train U33B was a single-run roadname released 4/1973, one of the least common production roadnames on an Athearn U-boat. Just received one myself about a month ago from a friend of mine who's leaving HO scale for Lionel, although mine seems to be an error kit as the road number is only printed on one side of the cab. It's currently in a box for moving or I'd post a picture!

"The centerpiece of the Auto-Train was the 62 ex-Canadian National bi-level autoracks," some very interesting information there, bus. I wonder what exactly those CN autoracks they refer to. Also, the Seaboard dining cars and baggage cars used as steam generator cars. Some easy paint overs, maybe?

Bachmann also made a set in the mid 70's

That's mega cool. I'd like to try to find that car carrier. I wouldn't mind painting up my own, but not sure if I could find the decals. That purple pin striping would be quite the challenge. Thanks, guys, for all the helpful leads.
Would the carrier be typically placed behind the locomotive or at the end of the train, in typical service?

These!

CN was an early autorack pioneer in the late 50s-early 60s, and constructed two classes of what would soon be known as an autorack, but with the exterior constructed as a boxcar with end doors instead of side doors.
These are the other, shorter ones, which bore a very famous paint scheme that matched CN's passenger equipment. These were retired by CN and have nothing to do with Auto Train but they're cool.

The crazy thing is that Auto-Train turned a couple of the autoracks into cabooses #3 and #7.

These are great photos. I've seen a few, but not as good as this. That Cabooserator is fantastic. And I did not know of CN's history of this car.

I wonder why AT needed a caboose car? Plus has anyone made it into HO scale?
least we all know that the HO CN auto boxcar with the X-ray pic on the side is real
