One thing I like about the old Gumby cartoons was that they often featured different kinds of model trains in them, due to the main characters being done in claymation. Gumby himself can sometimes be seen riding an O or G-scale train (the earliest episodes often had Marx trains in them, before switching to Lionel, American Flyer and LGB for the larger scales. HO typically used HObbyline, Revell and possibly Tyco.)
One frequently-used model locomotive they used was the Lionel 2035. They put it on two-rail Primer sections because in the Gumby universe, many of the trains can carry their tracks wherever they go, and some of them have minds of their own!
Here are some more interesting Gumby episodes with model trains in them...

The second to last video is a Tyco 2-6-2! Wonder what cars? Then the little lost pony has a Marx set! Have to say the train crazy episode is funny! " Heck with counting 'em rivets, TRAINS ARE FOR FUN! Not called the Mad Scientist for nothing either!"

How about The Small Planets where Gumby and Pokey go to a Train Planet I always thought that they used some company's HO Missile launching car in that Clokey built his own
