OK, so it sounds like what I call a Hokey collecty. In other words what makes it collectible is Athearn was stupid enough to jump the gun, and by the time they were drliverred to UP the 40's were sportig widecabs.

Question is does that make it worth grabbing...

Ken would you grab one at that price $70 Cdn if you had the option. I have been leaning towards picking up a President's Choice (IHC) 2-10-2 trainset the No.11 one for around $100. It's an either/or

I have several Athearn DD40's all UP. $70 is at the top tier of pricing. See if you can get it for $50-$60.

It's basically NMIB railings still in package in box. It's consignment so doubtful on bargaining,

I'm more likely to buy the trainset, since I've never had one... always bitza's...

Know what email me about that, in truth I forgot about it Until you posted about the PC set... Can't afford both so I'd have to choose. Last month or so been dealing with some demons. I was actually ready to give all my train stuff away a couple of weeks ago along with everything else.

So email me, Ok.

Including how much for the PC set. I'd guess around $20. It can probably be repacked, I'm not all that concerned aboutthe box. There is on the conssignment shelf at my LHS an IHC 2-10-2 with a proper tender in CN markings. The tender in the PC sets that hugely long Vandy doesn't match any Canadian Vandy I'm aware of.

Our Pal on here Graftonterminal has I think done a kitbash of the IHC Sante fe into a better CNR one, GT if you read this am I right about that???

anyway email me...

I would definitely choose the PC set over the DD40. Those 2-10-2's are nice.

gareth, prices here are much different to over there we see far less so $65/70 is cheap over here due to rarity, but i think the price they are asking is not average but top dollar ken

Hey NP:

I like thge 2-10-2 as well, but the tender is pure fanatsy. The IHC one made independantly marked CN has a more approriate tender... Tere's one at the LHS. I've kinda put a moratoreum on Train spending till I figure out whats next in my life.

I have a Spectrum Pacific that has the usual drive problems and I'm taking it to NY at Christmas and sending it in for a replacement. Thats when I'll be shipping out that rolling stock to pepole that spoke up for it. Gotta go find that posting and figure out what box that stuff is in...
