Up for sale today I have one of my steam loco projects which I'll probably never get done. It started life as a Mantua "Big Six" 0-6-0 switcher. Here's what I've added to it:
Mantua USRA small tender (NYC lettering can be removed if desired) Bowser handrail posts Cal-Scale air compressor Cal-Scale marker lights Cal-Scale pop valve and whistle cluster Cal-Scale Pyle headlight Cal-Scale generator Front pilot casting from IHC 2-8-2 Athearn modified 28" wheelsets for lead and smokebox trucks Kadee #5 couplers

This is a very smooth runner and has one of the best Mantua motors I've ever seen. She throttles up very quietly and runs extremely smooth. With the cast metal boiler, it is also very powerful – I've had it pull 12 50' metal-wheel boxcars, but it is capable of more.
All that needs to be done is paint, decals and mounting of the front and rear wheelsets (clearance notches have already been filed). You could add a Mantua valve gear kit if you wish; Yardbird Trains has these kits available.
It closely resembles a 2-6-2 built by MLW for the Thurso and Nation Valley Railway in Quebec, as that was the intended product of the work I've done, but it could be a nice little generic 2-6-2 for your own road.
Asking $35 or best offer plus shipping. I accept Paypal or postal money order. I live in Canada so please expect a slightly longer shipping time. I will send via Canada Post parcel post unless otherwise specified, and the loco will be insured against shipping damage at no extra charge. Please send me an e-mail if you are interested!

Hey Kris;
Nice unit and I'm tempted but I'm not in the market for a "Prairie" and then there's that unemployed thing...
I hope you get a buyer for it though.
