Ken, It's definitely a generator car (for head-end-power), but I've never seen this model before. You say it makes smoke? Where do you put the fluid? Where does the smoke come from. I've always got some goodies to trade. On second thought, I guess maybe it's a boiler car for locos without a steam boiler. Chris

hi chris its a rapido, used behind steam locos to heat the passenger cars, before they thought of using electric,ie dynamos widely used by most railroads in usa and europe, the filler cap is between the on off switches, you get a syringe with it to fill it and a wand with a magnet to open roof up ken

I've just read that it comes with a magnetic wand to turn on the smoke and lights. Do you have that?

The site is a little ambiguous, but the pic looks like the switches themselves are magnetically operated. I don't see a manual switch. I'll dig around and see if there's anything you'd like.

for safety sake the little black levers are for switching on and off,if it was switched by wand you would have to be careful that you did not switch steam on by accident

Still have this? I have a nicely custom decorated Mantua 4-6-4 with Vandy tender as CN 5100. Cab's been replaced by an aftermarket Canadian cab, though.
