Hi Folks,

I'm New to the Forum and in need of Help. For the past 35 years I have been in search for AHM's Lincoln Funeral Car #3238. Has anyone ever seen it? Is this the Holy Grail of HO Model Trains? Anyone have any ideas for locating it if it truely exists?

They do exist.
I have seen a couple of them for sale at train shows.
I forget what they were asking for them.

Yes it exists...sigh...you'd think is was the Holy Grail as hard as it is to find AND how much it costs when found. I've seen at least two on Ebay over the years, but I ain't forking over that kind of coin for no car. There are also at least two owned by members of forums I am a part of so, yes they are out there and, yes, I'll probably be chasing it like Ahab's Moby Dick 'til kingdom come...

UPDATE...in a search, I found I missed this not long ago...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360188318941

...the economy at least has made them more affordable...

Hi Bkwhite2. There were several variations of the Funeral car. Pocher and Lima made the Car for AHM. Both were made In Italy. Here is a Picture of a Pocher. Carl

Here is a postcard of the real thing.

They go for $70 and up on eBay, or at least they did last time I checked. If Bachmann decided to make a detailed version they could make a killing, since it attracts Civil War buffs as well as model railroaders.
